Ceramic Sorcery

is a collection of artisan pottery and ritual wares made by McKenna Hussey. She graduated from the University of Arkansas - School of Art in 2020 with a Bachelor of the Arts Degree focused in Ceramics and Photography. Her studio space is currently based in Fayetteville.

Artist Statement

​

"I find the ability to make pots comparable to sorcery and witchcraft because the experience of manipulating a block of mud into usable wares is like magic for me. I am particularly drawn to pottery-making because each part of the process is very intentional and that keeps me grounded in the present moment. Hand-making as a practice of mindfulness is the driving force behind my craft.

I hope my pieces will function in their new homes with a purpose of bringing more presence into the users' rituals of daily life."
